3D Shape Memory
Twelve cards, six solids. Flip two at a time and find the pairs. Every shape turns slowly so you see it from all sides.
Objective: Recognising and naming 3D shapes (cube, rectangular prism, pyramid, cylinder, cone and sphere) and matching the same shape seen from different angles
How to use it
- Tap a card to flip it, then tap a second. If the shapes match they stay face up with a gold edge. If not, they turn back over after a moment.
- The two cards in a pair spin half a turn apart, so students have to recognise the shape rather than match an identical picture.
- Ask students to say the name of each shape as it turns over, and to point out its faces, edges and curved surfaces.
- When all six pairs are found, the game deals a new round by itself after a few seconds, or tap any card to start straight away.
- On an interactive whiteboard use Open full screen so the cards fill the board.
